One of the most surprising parts of Morocco for me was how Rabat felt like a European city. On our street you could find European stores, French cafes, and men and women dressed in very Western clothing. At the same time you could also see men and women in traditional Moroccan clothing, Moroccan restaurants, and insane driving.
I was still thoroughly amazed by the dramatic mountains we were being expertly driven through. Many times throughout the program I had wanted to express to my five other classmates and my professor how absolutely stunning I found the country to be; but I had to do so in Arabic.
