Education Abroad Expo

For exhibitors only

Welcome to the annual Education Abroad Expo (formerly known as the Study Abroad Fair) at Michigan State University. The 2016 expo will take place on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the Breslin Center. This is the largest event sponsored by the Office of Study Abroad and has been highly successful over the past two decades with an average attendance of 3,000 to 4,000 students.

To participate in the expo, advance registration is required. Current program directors, plus representatives from MSU colleges, services units and on-site partners received electronic invitations in May and the deadline to reserve space is September 1, 2016. Please contact Cheryl Benner with questions about participating in the expo. Please note the expo is NOT open to outside vendors or institutions not affiliated with current MSU programming.


For our visitors from off-campus who need overnight accommodations, OSA has a limited number of rooms reserved at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center ( on Harrison Avenue. The Kellogg Reservation line is (800)-875-5090 and use group code (1610STUABR) for a special rate. Additional local accommodations can be found online at Please note individuals are responsible to pay their own room, tax and incidentals.


Parking is available for MSU faculty/staff in lot 63E (enter off Shaw Lane). Public parking is available in lot 63W (enter off Harrison Road) and is a pay as you stay lot. Additional parking information can be found on the Breslin Center website.

Check-in procedures and set-up

Program directors and other exhibitors may arrive at the Breslin Center beginning at 10:30 am and should enter through the Ticket Office. Office of Study Abroad (OSA) staff will be available at each entrance to direct you to your assigned table.

Be sure to bring photos, artifacts, syllabi... anything to make your table attractive to students. For ideas on how to create an original and effective display, see Ideas for creating your table display.

NOTE: Items are not allowed to be taped to the walls of the Breslin Center. Please display materials on your table or via a self-supporting easel.

6 ft tables will be provided with two chairs and white linens draped over each table.

Electrical outlets will be accessible to all tables; however be sure to bring an extenstion cord in case your cord won't reach.

Wireless network access is available at the Breslin; ask for details at check-in if needed.


A variety of boxed lunches will distributed to program directors, staff and exhibitors ONLY beginning at 11:00 am. (If you have special dietary needs, please contact our office and we will do our best to accommodate.) You may choose to eat at your table or a designated seating area. Please be sure your table is staffed at the start of the expo as students will be lined up right at noon!

Vouchers will also be available at check-in for afternoon snacks and/or beverages from the concession stand.

Check-out procedures

The expo takes place until 6:00 pm. PLEASE be sure your table remains staffed until the end. Many students arrive between 5:00 and 6:00 pm and will be discouraged to find empty tables.

All display materials are the responsibility of the exhibitor (including program flyers) and must be taken with you at the end of the expo. The Office of Study Abroad will recycle or throw away items left behind.
