This webpage is intended to capture the history of education abroad at Michigan State University from early 1900s to the present, in the context of national trends. Information has been compiled from a variety of resources, including interviews with former Study Abroad directors, MSU-internal historical materials, and national publications. The site features in-depth views on the development of study abroad throughout five phases: 1910 to 1949; 1950 to 1979; 1980 to 1989; 1990 to 1999; 2000 to present. Institutional innovations and strengths are also featured.
