Freshman Seminars Abroad (FSA)

Freshman Seminars Abroad allow recently graduated, first-year Michigan State University students to explore intriguing topics in small, learning environments.

These programs typically are between 12 and 18 days in length and take place between mid-July and mid-August, except for the program in Dubai that takes place over winter break. Program details are subject to change due to unexpected circumstances.

MSU faculty and staff design these experiential seminars to help incoming students:

• develop an appreciation of the knowledge and skills required to become successful players in a global economy,
• learn about college-level expectations and skills,
• earn academic credit while exploring contemporary, global issues,
• develop a peer and professional support network, and
• improve critical thinking and writing skills.
