The closest airport is the Lansing Capital City Airport, located approximately 15 minutes from campus. Detroit Metro airport is around 1.5 hours from East Lansing, and transportation is available on the Michigan Flyer.
Students should plan to arrive approximately 1 week before the commencement of classes. Arrival dates will be posted for each semester and MSU will provide free airport pickup from the Lansing airport on designated days. Please notify us of your arrival on these days by using the airport pickup form. A taxi service is available at the Lansing airport for those arriving outside of the designated pickup days.
A special orientation program will be provided as part of the American Semester program. Students will attend mandatory immigration and health check-in sessions. You will also be introduced to the campus, the facilities and the services available. Cultural and social activities are included in the program. Orientation is especially important to American Semester participants to help you get the most out of your short time at MSU. Peer advisors will give you tips on navigating the MSU campus.
