Davina Potts is a special projects coordinator in the Office of Study Abroad. Working with departments across campus, Davina is expanding opportunities for students from partner institutions abroad to come and study at Michigan State University for a semester or summer session.
Originally from Australia, Davina holds a Masters degree from Macquarie University in Sydney and helped build the largest student mobility program in Australia. With over 800 students each semester, Macquarie is a popular destination for study abroad students from around the world. Davina was part of the Macquarie International Team that developed the Global Leadership Program – an initiative that has inspired similar developments by other institutions across the globe. She has presented at numerous international education conferences in Australia, the U.S. and various other countries.
Prior to coming to Michigan, Davina was based in Santiago, Chile where she was the Education Counselor for Latin America within the Australian government. In this capacity, she worked extensively with institutions and governments in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile and Argentina to increase the engagement of Australian institutions in the Latin American region. Her office also managed the Study in Australia activities in this region.
Currently, Davina is enrolled in the Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education (HALE) doctoral program at Michigan State where she plans to further her understanding of international education from various perspectives.
